Hytera UK, alongside their UK distributor Zycomm Electronics, recently launched a range of professional radio solutions to their Scottish dealer network at Winton Castle near Edinburgh. Daniel Frith, Key Account Manager at Hytera UK, explains why Winton Castle was the perfect location for their launch.

What were your aims for the launch event?

“The aims of the launch event and conference were to give dealers an opportunity to improve their understanding of our new applications and radios, and for us to get to know them better as individuals,” said Daniel Frith.

“From the start, the professional-looking video on the website gave us a good impression of Winton Castle. Also indications on the website and talking to James Maynard, the General Manager, gave us confidence that the venue could more than handle the type of launch event we wanted to hold. 

“We chose Winton Caslte as the venue because it’s set in beautiful grounds in East Lothian countryside close to Edinburgh, easily accessible as it’s just off the A1. 

“The conference venue had to have sufficient gravitas to complement the Hytera brand, and Winton House certainly has that.”

What hospitality was provided for your conference?

“Teas, coffees and snacks were provided throughout the day, and a delicious buffet lunch was laid on each day. 

“James and other members of the events team at Winton Castle also assisted with set-up and taking down our equipment, banners and more, as well as providing a lot of other hospitality over all 3 days we were here!”

The launch event used all five of Winton’s inter-connecting reception rooms: the Drawing Room for the exhibition, Dining Room for the presentations, Cabinet Room for the buffet lunches, the Octagon for teas and coffees, and King Charles Room for relaxing. 

“The feedback from our guests was completely positive. Several of our dealers commented that it was amongst the most professional events they’d been to. The quality of the food was fantastic, and the hospitality ensured that the day ran seamlessly. All the feedback received was great.

“The conference facilities were very good, and, overall, our needs were met well.” 

How do you measure the success of your launch event?

“We measure the launch event’s success in attendance and positive feedback. Longer term, we will measure it in the sales (both direct and through our distributors) achieved by our Scottish re-sellers. 

“The attendance exceeded expectations and, as mentioned, feedback was universally positive.

“Winton Castle is a fantastic location and a large, open house with lots of parking. There are great paintings and antiques, but the venue’s history is well balanced with modern conference facilities.”

Daniel Frith says in conclusion: “The venue, staff and facilities were, without exception, outstanding. We and our guests felt welcome from start to finish.”
