We're On The Hunt For Local Young Legends!

Are you a Young Legend or do you know of someone who is?

2018 is the Year of Young People and to mark the occasion, VisitScotland’s Business Events Team is on the lookout for three Young Legends aged 18-26 who best represent the country’s spirit of pioneering innovation.

Edinburgh is a hub of exceptional talent and forward thinkers. The city is home to four universities and countless thriving start-up companies, with campuses such as Edinburgh BioQuarter, Codebase and Roslin Innovation Centre harnessing young start-ups and helping them flourish by giving them access to on-site expertise. What better way to demonstrate Edinburgh’s young talent than by become a Young Legend?!  


What is Young Legends?

Young Legends is part of VisitScotland’s national business tourism campaign, Legends. Focusing on Scotland’s 12 key sectors over a two-year period, the campaign aims to demonstrate all that the country has to offer business events across these innovative sectors.


How do you qualify to be a Young Legend?

Edinburgh is home to many influential and pioneering professionals who are revolutionary in their field. If you’re aged 18-26, are representative of pioneering innovation and are involved in any of the following sectors, you could be in with the chance of being crowned a Young Legend!

How can you enter?

  1. Upload a video to Youtube or Twitter using the hashtag #IdeasBecomeLegend – in approx. 1 minute or under, please explain in your own words what makes Scotland the home of pioneering innovation in relation to your idea/research/business idea/discovery
  2. Submit a 500-word nomination outlining why you meet the criteria of Young Legend in your field, as well as a verifying endorsement from a referee (100 words max.) to legends@visitscotland.com
