In advance of the event, Amanda Ferguson, Head of Business Tourism at Marketing Edinburgh, said:
“We are delighted that Scotland’s capital has been selected as host city for this important visit. China is one of the world’s fastest growing emerging markets and at Marketing Edinburgh, we’ve been working hard to ensure the city is a China friendly destination – both for tourists and the global business community.
“With a diverse array of first-rate events facilities and amenities on offer, alongside our new direct air route to China, we look forward to building stronger links with this hugely important market for the city, driving investment and economic influence.”
Prior to the main event, the group were treated like royalty as they attended an evening event at the Royal Yacht Britannia. This was followed by a full-day FAM trip on Thursday 27 September, with the group visiting 9 venues, hotels and retailers across the city. On Thursday evening, the delegates enjoyed a whisky tasting at the Scotch Whisky Experience followed by a reception at The Balmoral Hotel. For the final evening, the guests had a relaxed evening at Contini Cannonball
