The Legends campaign has brought together all of Scotland for a 'one nation' approach. Each city is given one week in the digital spotlight to showcase their strengths in each of the key sectors.
Each sector is allocated a two month period during which VisitScotland leads on social media messaging for several weeks before handing the mic over to each city for a week to shine the spotlight on their particular credentials. We at Marketing Edinburgh are fully engaged with this campaign, leading some of the core messaging and encouraging our members but also key stakeholders in each sector to get involved.
What is Marketing Edinburgh doing to promote our city?
We lead on messaging through the main channels - sourcing content from key movers and shakers in the industry. This rich content is stored on the MakeItEdinburgh webpages with a call to action for event planners to make an enquiry with us. We will keep you right in terms of which sector is in focus and when Edinburgh takes to the stage, so you can engage with our activity and help amplify the messaging!
How can you get involved?
Similar to Make It Edinburgh, we need everyone to get active on social media (Twitter and LinkedIn) by posting your own messages that resonate with that sector. Perhaps you have a case study of a conference in that sector. Or historically your venue or hotel has a connection with that sector e.g. former bank (Finance Sector); your chef has won an award (Food & Drink); you are carbon neutral (Renewables).
Engage, Engage, Engage: such campaigns really benefit from the amplification when everyone retweets, shares and comments.
