Website Accessibility

Convention Edinburgh is a part of Marketing Edinburgh and has made every effort to ensure that this website is as accessible as it can be to as wide a range of users as possible.

This page contains a few pointers that might help you get the most out of your use of the website if you do have a particular accessibility requirement.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

The site has been developed with accessibility in mind and considering the needs of a wide audience.  We strive to achieve the AA (Double A) standard of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 (WCAG).

The website relies on Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control presentation and layout that provides faster download times and improved searching. The website is responsive so it will flex to different screen resolutions.

Ease of Use

This site has been designed for use by all members of the community, whether experienced internet users or not. The layout has been created with visually impaired users in mind and is fully compatible with browser-reading software.

Increasing Text Size

Some users might find screen text easier to read by increasing the size at which text is displayed. To do this you can simply adjust your browser's settings.

If you use Microsoft® Internet Explorer go to the VIEW menu, select TEXT SIZE and then either LARGER or LARGEST.

If you use a Mozilla-based browser (such as Firefox), go to the VIEW menu, then TEXT STYLE, then choose Increase until the text is whatever size you require. Alternatively, hold down the Control (Ctrl) key and use the + and - keys to increase or decrease the text until you find a size you are comfortable with.

Adobe® Acrobat® PDF Files

Some documents on this site are provided in '.PDF' format. On selected pages there is also the opportunity for you to ‘PDF this page'.

PDFs (portable document format) are suited to downloading and printing. To view a PDF your browser requires the use of a plug-in called the Acrobat® Reader. Adobe Reader is free and available to download from the Adobe® website. Visually impaired users who require browser-reading software can download an Adobe plug-in for your browser.
