Pre/Post Conference Tours

As the gateway to Scotland, Edinburgh is the ideal starting point for exploring the country's compelling beauty. It's easy to organise a tour to any number of locations, and here are just a few ideas……

  • venture north to the Highlands and enjoy the majesty of the mountains, roaming through the rugged landscape of the Trossachs and on to Loch Ness, or why not visit Castle and Garden country and explore Scotland's Royal Heritage with afternoon tea at Balmoral Castle? The Visit Highlands Tourist Board website (opens in new window)
  • visit St. Andrews, the legendry home of golf, and experience the beautiful coastal scenery and delightful fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife on the way. The Fife Tourist Board website (opens in new window)
  • develop a taste for malts on one of Scotland's many whisky trails – head north to Speyside and visit whisky distilleries in picturesque settings and discover the traditions of distilling and maturing Scotch whisky, close to the natural ingredients on which the malts' unique flavour depends. Malt Whisky Trail (opens in new window)
  • head towards stunning Loch Lomond and the breathtaking scenery of the west coast, or you can adventure further west and leave the mainland behind - a short ferry ride will have you savouring the relaxed atmosphere of the islands and the charm of rural life. The Visit Heartlands website (opens in new window)

If you'd like advice on organising this aspect of your event, a Destination Management Company (DMC) can help you. Browse a list of our member DMCs on our meetingedinburgh website (opens in new window) or contact us for assistance.
