    Edinburgh Convention Bureau Ltd (ECB) is the lead agency for conferences in Edinburgh, representing the city of Edinburgh in all its business tourism activities. In 2006 we were responsible for securing 165 conferences for the city, with an economic impact of £68.5m.
  2. Integrated tourism
    Our major funding partners are you, our members, along with the City of Edinburgh Council and VisitScotland. We work closely with these and other agencies including Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh & Lothian to ensure an integrated approach to business tourism in the city.
  3. Membership strength
    With over 130 members, venues, attractions and conference service providers, we are truly representative of all aspects of business tourism in the city.
  4. Global partnerships
    On behalf of our members, we actively promote the city as a premier conference destination at major industry events and sales missions in the UK and overseas. We engage in active partnership with many leading industry bodies such as the BestCities consortium and the International Conference and Conventions Association.
  5. Edinburgh Ambassador Programme
    Our award-winning programme identifies specialists in a particular field, whether academic or commercial, and works with them every step of the way in putting together bids for national and international association conferences to be held in the city.
  6. Direct access to customers
    Through our dedicated website www.meetingedinburgh.com your potential clients can make online contact with you and make a Request for Proposal, to which you can respond directly. Instructions on administering your private RFP members portal can be downloaded here . The instructions are password protected with an identical password to that of the conference calendar.
  7. Marketing materials
    Our members are promoted free-of-charge through a range of print and online marketing materials, including Blueprint, the comprehensive listings guide to venues and services in the city, supported by co-ordinated press and PR. Members are encouraged to get involved and participate in further sales and marketing opportunities such as familiarisation and press visits, or hosting Edinburgh Ambassador events.
  8. Conference Accommodation Booking Service
    We offer a streamlined booking service, a one-stop shop which acts as an interface between all our accommodation members and conference organisers, ensuring that delegates are offered appropriate accommodation at the right price. Call 0131 473 3874 for further information.
  9. Membership network
    Through a range of communications including our quarterly e.newsletter, Conference Matters, our annual report and our regular members’ meetings, we disseminate news, views and industry trends, in order to inform and engage our members with the latest business tourism intelligence.
  10. We welcome feedback
    We are your membership organisation and we are constantly looking for new ways to develop and improve our service to you. So we encourage you to tell us your views, suggest new ideas and give us feedback.
